Our attention has been drawn to a wicked and vicious, albeit malicious and highly tendentious, publication by one pseudonymous group called Sacred Love Foundation (SLF) in the notorious AIF run by one Victor Eneh, entitled: Group Tackles Oye Over Attack on Catholic Church.
The publication in question alleged that our National Chairman accused Catholic priests of receiving bribe from a candidate to work for PDP.
Ordinarily we would have dismissed the said publication with a wave of hand but thought otherwise because of the gullibility of some of the people that read it.
We could easily discern those behind the false story: it came from those afraid of defeat in the 2021 governorship election. So, they think the best way to make themselves relevant was to malign the Catholic Church by proxy.
The entire story was puerile, tendentious and wickedly planted to cause disaffection between the Catholic Church and the ruling party in Anambra State, APGA.
Reading between the line would easily reveal the deceit and malice in the fabricated story. For instance, they referred to our revered National Chairman as a knight of the Catholic Church. From what we know, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye is not a knight of the church. He has rather worked devotedly for the growth of the church over the years.
The ludicrous part of the whole thing is that our National Chairman has never granted any interview to any media (electronic, print or social) since this year, having stayed out of public engagements since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March this year.
Again, our National Chairman has never had any official or private interaction with the so-called AIF, which is notorious for its clandestine and malicious stories against innocent citizens for pecuniary gains.
Those familiar with the activities of AIF promoters will easily see the hatchet job it did with the story in question against our National Chairman. Everything about the publication lacked credibility, professionalism, and deliberately skewed to promote the wicked agenda of those lily-livered politicians that feel that the only way to popularize themselves is to run down other persons.
We wish to state unequivocally that APGA, and by extension our national chairman, holds the Catholic church in very high esteem and can never engage in any exercise to malign it.
We challenge the faceless religious advocacy group, Sacred Love Foundation (SLF), or AIF to publish the voice recording of the alleged interaction with Dr. Oye or forever hide their faces in shame.
The time has passed when fools and political misfits will make wild allegations against people without any substantial proof to buy favour or win cheap publicity.
We wish to reassure the church and its Laity that our National Chairman will never engage in any act detrimental to his own faith (as a devout Catholic) or the church which he has faithfully served for over 50 years.
We urge the priests and laity of the church to discountenance any of such stories in future as they can never emanate from our stable as veritable partners with the church in the development of our state and nation.
