OYE, APGA WIN AGAIN

Dear Esteemed APGA Faithful

I am pleased to inform you that today being the 23rd day of April, 2020, the Delta State High Court, Kwale Judicial Division presided over by His Lordship, Hon Justice V. I. Ofesi has set aside the judgment of the court nullifying the National Executive Committee meeting of APGA held on the 14th of May, 2019.

You would recall that following the institution of a frivolous suit by some disgruntled members of our great party, the Delta State High Court entered a default judgment in Suit No. HCK/40/2020: High Chief Ogonetus Okponetus & ors v All Progressives Grand Alliance & anor. By the said default judgment, the National Executive Committee meeting of APGA held on the 14th of May, 2019 was nullified.

Subsequently, the legal team of the party commenced intense legal battle to have the perverse judgment set aside. Ordinarily, the Delta State High Court lacked the jurisdiction to preside over the suit the subject matter of which took place in Anambra State.

It is therefore with immense pleasure that I inform you that the Honourable Court acceded to our request and has therefore set aside the default judgment today.
This is victory for democracy and rule of law.
We should continue to work together for the peace, progress and growth of our great party.

Our confidence in Nigeria’s judiciary remains unremitting and unshakeable.
We thank our legal team for a job well done.

May God take all the glory.

Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye,
National Chairman, APGA
