FIGHT AGAINST COVID: APGA MAJOR STAKEHOLDER IN NNEWI SOUTH, AIDE TO GOV OBIANO, HON FELIX ODUMEGWU (OMUS) DISTRIBUTES FREE FOOD ITEMS TO HIS COMMUNITY

As part of his contribution towards cushioning the effect of COVID-19 on his people, the immediate past transition committee chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area and currently the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Willie Obiano on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Hon Felix Odimegwu (Omus) last Saturday in his country home, Omus Villa located at Awor village, Ezinifite community of Nnewi South LGA reached out to the needy and the poor irrespective of party or religious affiliation in his town, Ezinifite.

No fewer than 500 persons went home with cartons of noodles, garri, bread, yams and bags of rice to cushion the effect of the lockdown due to coronavirus.

APGA party members were not left out as the needy among them were also given stimulus packages.

Speaking to APGA new media during the exercise onus went down memory lane by humbly submitting that APGA national chairman’s open letter to APGA members to come to the aid of the needy in the 326 wards of Anambra state and the subsequent response from key APGA major stakeholders to the APGA FIGHTS COVID-19 initiative of APGA national chairman by donating cash and materials which was distributed freely in the various wards was the inspiration behind his operation feed the poor in his community and ward as a supplement.

Hon Felix Odimegwu also thanked the executive governor of Anambra state who has taken it upon him to cater for 200 elderly per 181 communities in Anambra state and the Governor’s subsequent announcement of embarking also on feeding 400 youths per 181 community including the tax stimulus package for tax payers as well as cancelation of levies for keke, shuttle and buses in Anambra for 2 months as a super stimulus package worthy of emulation by all other states in Nigeria.

He concluded by calling on all other well-meaning APGA members, Ndi Anambra and lovers of good things to join in the fight against hunger during this lockdown period due to the global pandemic even as he pleaded that all indigenes and residents of Anambra should support the fight against covid-19 by obeying government orders and also observe all the healthcare safety measures as being updated by Anambra state government, NCDC.
